MBSR Instructors

John W. Steele, Ph.D
John W. Steele, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist, and Registered Yoga Teacher, has been practicing yoga and meditation since age 16. He participated in a professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1999. John has also received training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Focusing-Oriented Therapy. He is a Naropa Certified Meditation Instructor and Adjunct Professor in the graduate psychology program at Naropa University. John teaches yoga at the Boulder Recreation Center and the Iyengar Yoga Center of Boulder.

 

Ray Howe, MD
Ray Howe, MD, has been practicing as a Board Certified Family Medicine physician and has been practicing meditation for more than 15 years. He has trained at the Center for Mindfulness, the mindfulness training program created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and been approved to teach the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program.

 

Peggy Sheehan, MD
Peggy Sheehan, MD, is a graduate of Johns Hopkins Medical School and has been a practicing pediatrician for over 20 years, as well as studying and practicing meditation. In 2005, Dr. Sheehan trained at University of Massachusetts Medical School to facilitate the Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn curriculum of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Since then she has been teaching the program for the Kaiser Permanente Centers for Complementary Medicine.
